Ham and Broccoli Quiche Recipe

An attractive quiche that can satisfy a man-sized appetite.


1 unbaked deep-dish pastry shell (9 inches)
½ cup chopped fresh broccoli
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 cup water
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
4 eggs, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons chopped green onion
½ cup diced fully cooked ham
1 ½ cups milk
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
¼ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Recipe Instructions

Prepare the pastry.
Line the pastry shell with a double layer of heavy duty foil. Bake for 8 minutes at 450 degrees. Remove the foil and bake for a further 5 minutes. Leave to cool on a wire rack.

Cook the broccoli.
Bring salted water and broccoli to the boil in a small saucepan. Cover and cook for 2 minutes. Drain the broccoli and place into ice water. Drain again and pat dry.

Make the cheese mixture.
Put the cheese into the flour and toss.

Combine the eggs, milk, onion and seasoning in a large bowl. Stir in the ham, broccoli and cheese mixture. Pour the mixture into the prepared crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 – 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to stand for 10 minutes before cutting.
