Cheese and Broccoli Macaroni

Cook the macaroni.
Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water for 15 minutes and drain.

Make the cheese sauce.
Put the milk, flour and butter into a saucepan. Bring to the boil stirring continuously and keep stirring until the sauce thickens and is smooth. Lower the heat and simmer for 1 – 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and add most of the cheese. Stir until the cheese has melted. Season to taste.

Cook the broccoli.
Blanche the broccoli in boiling water until tender (7 minutes) and drain well.

Serve.
Put the broccoli at the bottom of a serving dish and cover it with the macaroni and cheese sauce. Sprinkle over the remaining cheese and breadcrumbs. Place under a hot grill and brown.
