Broccoli Bhaji Recipe

Simple recipe for an Indian starter or snack.

Ingredients

2 cups gram flour
2 tablespoons rice flour
2 teaspoons red chili powder
1 pinch baking soda
Salt to taste
2 cups broccoli separated into florets
½ cup water
¼ cup oil

Recipe Instructions

Make the batter.
Mix together the gram flour, rice flour, red chilli powder, baking soda and salt. Gradually add the water to make a smooth paste.

Cook.
Heat the oil in a kadai. Place the broccoli florets into the bhaji batter and ensure they are completely coated. Put the coated florets in the oil and deep fry.

Serve.
Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel to drain off the excess oil. Serve hot with tomato sauce while the bhajis are still crisp.
