Broccoli and Oyster Sauce Stir Fry Recipe

Broccoli glazed with oyster sauce for that sumptuous flavor

A Chinese recipe for broccoli stir fry.


1 pound broccoli

For the sauce:
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon sherry
1/4 cup water
1 -2 teaspoons cornstarch

2 thin slices ginger
2 teaspoons sugar
1 garlic clove
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons oil for stir-frying
Salt to taste

Recipe Instructions

Prepare the broccoli.
Break off the florets and break them into halves or quarters. Peel the stems and slice diagonally. Wash and drain.

Make the sauce.
Mix all the sauce ingredients together and set aside.

Prepare the garlic and ginger.
Crush and peel the garlic. Mince the garlic and ginger.

Add 2 tablespoons of oil into a wok and heat. When heated add the garlic and ginger and sauté until brown. Add the broccoli and stir fry until they turn bright green then add the sugar and salt. Mix together well then add the water and cook covered for 2 minutes.

To finish.
Give the sauce a quick stir and add it into the wok. Push the broccoli to the side and make a well in the middle of the wok for the sauce. Add the sauce and stir until thickened, mix with the broccoli and serve hot.
