Broccoli and Cheese Bake Recipe

A perfect side dish to those people who loves cheese and at the same time loves broccoli
Yield: 6    Preparation Time: 10 minutes    Cooking Time: 55 minutes
A broccoli side dish with a French flavor.


3 large heads of broccoli, stalks removed
1/4 cup of flour
4 tablespoons double cream
2 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup grated cheese
1 pinch of nutmeg
1 cup of milk
Salt and pepper

Recipe Instructions

Cook the broccoli.
Boil the broccoli in salted water. Once cooked, pour over cold water and drain well.

Make the white sauce.
Melt the butter in a pan. Sir in the flour and allow to cook for 1 minute. Pour in the milk beating continuously, beat for 2 minutes and then remove from the stove. While stirring, add the cream, nutmeg, half the cheese and salt and pepper.

Roughly chop the broccoli and mix it into the sauce. Place in a baking dish and sprinkle with the remainder of the cheese. Bake at 400F for 15 minutes until brown and crispy on the top.
